I enjoyed a wonderful stay, impressed by the delightful seafood dishes like the crab sandwich, showcasing local flavors. The decor was filled with nautical memorabilia, creating a warm atmosphere that felt both historical and cozy. The breakfast offered a variety of options including delicious kippers that truly satisfied my cravings. the staircase to the upper floors could use some improvements for better safety.

Access to rooms involves navigating steep, narrow stairs, which might be challenging for some guests, particularly those with larger luggage or mobility concerns. Limited parking primarily caters to disabled guests, leaving others to search for public options nearby, which can be inconvenient during busy periods. The bar area, buzzing with patrons, can make it tricky to grab a drink or find a quiet spot, though the restaurant remains a more serene alternative for dining.

The ambience was lovely, and the seafood chowder was just as amazing as I hoped. The quirky vibe added a charm to our stay. I'd definitely come back for another visit!

I had a great time trying the crab soup, and breakfast was massive and delicious! The veggie curry with chicken was a highlight, too. I'll definitely revisit!

This pub has a warm and inviting atmosphere, serving delicious food and a great range of ales. the bar snacks were a letdown, as they were quite small for the price. it's a lovely place worth visiting, especially for a proper meal.

We had a fantastic time enjoying the vibrant atmosphere and the splendid smoked chowder. A staff member went out of their way to accommodate our prams and provided exceptional service, making our daughter's day extra special with a treat. Remember to book in advance! Highly recommend.

Our family enjoyed a delightful overnight stay. The charm of the place captivates you right away! Don’t forget to pack light. narrow steps can be challenging. The pub atmosphere was lively, and the selection of ales was fabulous. A lovely walk to nearby Bamburgh is a must!

Amazing maritime memorabilia everywhere! The quirky decor and cozy atmosphere made it feel like a mini-museum. Loved the intimate bar with an open fire—perfect for chilly evenings. The tea and coffee facilities in the room were refreshed daily, a nice touch after exploring the area.

Target audience wanting a comfy stay

The staff were extremely attentive without being overbearing, particularly at the breakfast. At one point, I watched the chef adjust the timing of breakfast just for us, which was really something, goes to show the kind of care they put into it.

Not exactly cheap, but still on the acceptable side for what we got.
